100 onions 20 garlics have all started to come to life :) keeping the chickens from getting them seems the hardest part ..
The greenhouse is slowing getting full with peas, toms, cabs, lets, corn, spin, goses, chilles
Greens are doing well will be netting tomorrow not just to keep the chickens off :)
Ice lettace i repotted last week is just picking up aswell as the spinach ( not in shot ) seem to be forever repotting at the moment
My 1st of the year sowed outside pea just come up :) Il be planting the greenhouse ones with them sometime next week.On the 26th i got my eggs in ,Black Red / Black Araucanas & French Copper Black Marans Not that confident in this home made incubator as 3 different thermometer are giving 3 different readings Iv chosen to go with the normal mercury thermometer for my readings.
2 pounds china made elec one gives 41c .
not so cheap elec Innovation outside moniter one gives 38c
and the standed merc one showing 37c

Now the 8th of march I have gone and got a new incubator to try again in fear that this hasnt worked and will be getting new eggs next week .

Indoors My seeds are slowly coming to
life :)Some or laggy (As expected) So
to try combat this if added a
SAD lamp ie grow lamp . the laggy plants here are
iceberg lettuces and some toms , Im not worred about the toms so much as il reroot them later .
4 of the 6 Dorset naga chilli's have germinated and Thats fine for me Il only be growing 2 plants maybe 3 one as a backup .
Just growing this for a bit of fun really :) I found out about them from HERE and found this Video on youtube Here
Not all the plants have gone laggy Im pleased to say , my potato leaf type tomatoes are doing great :P they are called Tamina ,Id recommend this type as you get a tasty Mid to large fruit With the added bonus of less sideshooting :P

Today I managed to put a full day in around the garden & plot .Weeded a few more beds ,took out loads of bindweed , dug in new compost (hens loved eating all the slug eggs + criters But Not so happy about the annihilation worms )also did the end of year clean and disinfect of the greenhouse/ all pots, equipment .At this moment the G/H is just full of smoke from a sulphur bomb I set off 3 hours ago ( Expecting a second visit from the fire brigade this month ).planing of planting some lettuce in the g/h - It should be about 25 hours once the smokes gone and all pots are stored away till December.

Also noticed this camellia I got at the start of the year has started to bud again !Which is crazy as its a spring flowering plant not sure if to bring it inside before the frost kicks in

Should of weeded and Earthed up my leeks today but Went to the beach to let the dog have a run instead .

01october

Been months since I last posted and i've missed loads of pics of the final crops and the new arrival of my 2 ex battery hens. I'll try find them as i'm sure I took some the day I got them . Still; here are the hens now ( the blury one is on a phone cam, it's about 1 month old now ). The ex batts have come on leaps and bounds from being 85% bald to almost fully refeathered . As for the plot - i've closed off most of it for the winter and dug in compost + manure. Celery, leeks, celeriac, beetroot, herbs and some courgettes, runners & tomato plants still cropping.
